Two Pie Basket
This basket was originally used for the purpose of carrying two pies to church by the local widow women of the congregation. The reason they carried two pies to church was that they did not know what kind of pie the local bachelors would like, so they doubled their chances of finding the right man by carrying two different flavors.
The basket is 10 inches wide and 20 inches long, approximately 4 inches high with a sturdy handle. The handle is notched into the rim of the basket, and wooden pegs are inserted through the handle into the rim.
As always this basket is made, like all our baskets, out of the select white oak which is found in the north Florida Panhandle. TP100
